Dawn Farrell began her electrical industry career, in 1986, in typical fashion of the time, as a driver for Platt Electric. Less than a year later, her adept customer service skills were applied to both counter and inside sales positions. She quickly became a trusted inside sales resource, and provided customer service for some of Platt’s most prominent customers. From 2002 to 2017 Dawn worked at North Coast Electric, ultimately, becoming a gear quotations specialist, preceded by inside sales support, and project management positions. Hoyt NW is fortunate to incorporate Dawn’s stellar customer care, attention to detail, and her electrical industry savvy, into our sales support role.
Dawn is an avid hiker. She has hiked every inch of the 81 miles of trails at Forest Park, in Portland, as well as countless other mountain adventures. She is also an accomplished photographer; the combination of her two passions has resulted in many stunning photos!
Dawn is looking forward to providing excellent customer service to Hoyt NW customers, and is excited to help the company become a premier electrical manufacturers’ agency in the Northwest.
Rhonda Vaught began her electrical industry career, working in Distribution, in 1984. She was offered that first opportunity, at the Platt Electric Eastside (Portland) branch, as a receptionist. Immediately, she was thrust into sales, due to the heavy counter traffic, and took on the challenge of learning the electrical distribution business. Two years later, she was managing the branch, and crew, taking on that responsibility for the following twelve years.
In 1999, Rhonda pursued an opportunity to work directly for an electrical products manufacturer, accepting a position with Hubbell Wiring Devices, as their Oregon and SW Washington Territory Manager. She enjoyed developing relationships with distributors, contractors, and end users. The people aspect of the job has always been a draw for Rhonda, so she took a District Manager position, with Hubbell, in 2010. The expanded market areas, in addition to Oregon were; Northern California, Washington, Alaska, Western Montana, Northern Idaho, and Western Nevada. Rhonda loved meeting new people, developing a team, and pushing the limits to exceed expectations in that role.
A latent aspiration, to become an entrepreneur, was fulfilled when Rhonda was presented with the opportunity to become Steve Hoyt’s successor. January 1st, 2017, Rhonda became the Principal at Hoyt NW, and Steve Hoyt retired shortly afterward in March. Rhonda is thrilled to be focused on the market that she considers home, and has found to be so supportive, throughout her 30 plus years in the industry. She is excited to embark on this new endeavor to expand both personally and professionally at Hoyt NW!
